Fromthe Daily News by by Katy Bolger, Alison Gendar and Wil Cruz:A woman described as a drug-addicted prostitute was found stabbed to death in a popular Brooklyn park on Friday, police sources said.
Vivian Gonzalez, 54, was found just after 5:30 a.m. on a hill in Highland Park in East New York. She had been stabbed several times in the neck, police said.
"She was facedown," said Eric Settles, 23, a college student who spotted Gonzalez when he went out for a morning jog. "It's eerie, gruesome."
Gonzalez, whom sources said was a prostitute with a drug problem, had not been robbed. No one has been arrested, but detectives were focusing on ex-boyfriends and johns.
"There hasn't been a crime here for a long time," 40-year-old neighbor Rolinda Ramos said of the popular picnic destination. "People were just beginning to feel safe."
